Yucky green water? As we’ve mentioned in previous posts, pool water turns green thanks to algae growing in the water. This shows imbalance or lack of chlorine.

Fear not! Chlorine to the rescue! Shock your pool, and, going forward, make sure that the chlorine is kept to the correct levels. Remember to complement this by adding an algaecide supplement.

There are also shades of green that need different treatments. A nasty one that stands out is green water tinged with black. In that particular case, call in the pro’s. Your water may need to be drained, and the pool deep cleaned by the experts.

Remember that super-chlorination may reduce the green initially, but to keep green in its natural habitat i.e., only your garden, always reinforces the shock with a quality algaecide.
