One would think that a chlorine smell to your pool means to much chlorine in the water. But no. The opposite is true. You don’t have enough chlorine in the pool!
Why is this? Swimmers unwittingly introduce all sorts of undesirable ingredients into the pool wastes. These elements affect the efficiency of your filter, because they are not solid, and include perspiration, suntan lotions, cosmetics, and washing detergent.
These elements give off Nitrogen which combine with Chlorine to form Chloramines. It’s these Chloramines that give off the unpleasant chlorine smell, and cause skin and eye irritations.
Get fixing!
-
- Use an oxidizer that burns out these wastes, and shock your pool.
- Ensure your filter is working efficiently by cleaning it regularly.
Warning! Keep chemicals out of reach of children and store in a cool dry place. Never mix chemicals and never add water to chemicals, but rather chemicals to water.
