In most cases, and we hate to say this, but, you, your gardener, or your pool service company, haven’t been maintaining your pool properly.

Slippery and slimy pool walls are an indication of bacteria and algae growth. Fear not. Here’s a step-by-step solution.

    1. Clean the filter.

A clean filter helps the circulation of chemicals and prevents bacterial growth. Backwash once a week to flush the filter of the usual dirt and debris.

    1. Test the water.

Use a testing kit to see what chemistry needs to be adjusted. Adjust the PH, then add enough chlorine to bring it into the normal range.

    1. Use algaecide.

If slimy pool walls are a regular occurrence, use algaecide routinely. Algaecide will help, not hurt, your pool. Just don’t add too much because it can cause soapy-type  in your pool.

    1. Brush and shock.

Brush the pool floors and walls with a pool brush, then add a shock treatment to the water. It’ll bring sanitising levels up so that they kill the bacterial growth.
