“Good selection of stock, mainly irrigation and water purification. Always willing to order items not in stock. I am very impressed with how helpful and professional the owner and staff are. I took a faulty pressure pump to them today. They tested the pump and identified the problem. They could just have sold me the part but fitted the part to the pump and then tested it to make sure it was working properly. This was done to a high standard. I highly recommend this business.”

Frequently Asked Questions About The Gemini Combi Pack
How does the Gemini TwinSweep pool cleaner work? The Gemini uses your pool’s existing pump suction to create a powerful hammer-action cleaning effect. This suction-side cleaner connects directly to your skimmer box, eliminating separate power sources.
Water flows through the hose, powering the twinsweep hammer mechanism that scrubs debris from pool surfaces. The wide mouth captures everything from fine particles to larger leaves. The adjustable control valve optimises suction for your specific pool, while the swinging float arm creates varied cleaning patterns to prevent stuck corners.
Unlike high-suction cleaners, the Gemini requires less pump power, reducing energy costs and filtration system wear.
Contact PoolXpert’s technicians for expert setup support and advice.
What’s included in the Gemini Combi Pack? The Gemini Combi pack offers great value, including everything needed for immediate installation and operation, making it one of the most cost-effective pool cleaning solutions available.
This comprehensive pack includes:
The Gemini cleaner head with all internal components pre-assembled
12x 700mm UV-stabilised hose sections providing 8.4m total length for pools up to 10m x 5m
Adjustable control valve for performance tuning
Swinging float arm for improved manoeuvrability
UV-protected skirt that withstands harsh sunlight
The patented one-piece body design ensures exceptional durability, while the three moving parts keep maintenance simple and reduce replacement costs. You’ll also receive all necessary connectors and fittings for standard pool installations.
The UV-stabilised hoses are specifically designed to resist degradation from pool chemicals and sun exposure, ensuring years of reliable service. Each component has been engineered to work seamlessly with your existing pool pump and filtration system.
Contact your nearest PoolXpert store for expert advice on whether this is the most suitable pool cleaner for your needs, and to confirm you have everything required for installation.
How do I install the Gemini pool cleaner?Connect the 700mm hose sections securely, then attach the cleaner head. Connect to your skimmer box suction point, ensuring a proper seal. Prime the hose by submerging it completely to remove air bubbles.
Adjust the control valve to optimise suction based on your pump’s power. The cleaner should move steadily without racing or stalling. Ensure pump and skimmer baskets are clean before operation. Test the movement pattern for 10-15 minutes and adjust as needed.
PoolXpert offers professional installation services for optimal performance. Contact us to schedule your installation.
What maintenance does the Gemini require? The Gemini’s simple three-moving-part design makes maintenance straightforward, requiring just minutes per week.
Empty your skimmer basket and pump strainer at least twice weekly during heavy use. Inspect the cleaner head periodically for debris. Rinse hose sections with fresh water after each use to remove chlorine residue. Check the UV-protected skirt monthly for wear and examine hose connections for leaks.
Keep pool pH between 7.0 and 7.6 to prevent component damage. Store the cleaner out of direct sunlight and coil hoses loosely.
PoolXpert stocks genuine replacement parts and provides maintenance services. Visit your nearest store for a maintenance check.
Why is my Gemini not moving or moving slowly?Reduced performance typically indicates a suction or flow issue that’s easy to diagnose and fix.
Check your pump is running at full power and empty the skimmer basket if clogged. Inspect each hose section for blockages, cracks, or air leaks. Listen for hissing sounds indicating air entry.
Ensure the control valve is properly adjusted—too low prevents movement, too high causes sticking. Verify the cleaner isn’t tangled or caught on pool features. Check the float arm moves freely and the skirt isn’t excessively worn. Confirm your pump basket and impeller are clean.
If problems persist, contact PoolXpert for professional diagnostic service.
What pool sizes work best with the Gemini TwinSweep? The Gemini Combi Pack is designed for medium to large in-ground pools up to 10m x 5m, with 8.4m of hose included (12x 700mm sections).
It requires less suction than competitors, making it suitable for standard pump systems. The Gemini performs best in plastered and fibreglass pools over 40,000 litres. Smaller pools under 30,000 litres may need fewer hose sections, while larger pools over 75,000 litres might require additional length.
It excels in rectangular, oval, and standard freeform pools but may struggle with complex shapes or sharp corners.
Contact PoolXpert to determine if the Gemini suits your pool specifications.
Is the Gemini suitable for my pool surface type? The Gemini is designed for the most common residential pool surfaces in South Africa, delivering excellent results on plastered and fibreglass pools.
It works excellently on plastered concrete pools, with its UV-protected skirt moving smoothly without causing damage. The hammer action effectively scrubs algae and dirt without being too aggressive. On fibreglass pools, it removes debris without scratching the gelcoat surface.
It’s well-suited for pools with gentle slopes and standard shapes. However, highly textured surfaces like pebblecrete may reduce skirt seal effectiveness. Vinyl liner pools require extra caution.
Contact PoolXpert for advice on special surfaces.
